A Two-year Research Talent Programme for Early Career Researchers

Each year, eight talented early career researchers will have the opportunity to participate in a research talent programme where the instructors and mentors are AAU's international top professors across AAU's four faculties.?
The two-year programme focuses on development of the participants research competencies and profile, research management competencies and research ideas, maturing the participants research CVs through publication in internationally recognized journals, establishing scientific networks and securement of prestigious career grants.
AAU must contribute to solving the major societal challenges, and this poses new, special demands for research competences. Therefore, as a university, we must be able to attract, develop and retain the best talented researchers.
Programme content
The program’s content is defined within five areas:??

Research
Maturing your research ideas and skills.?

Competency Development
E.g. introduction to the prestigious grants, scientific grant writing, researach management and media training.?

Mentoring
Assignment of one senior mentor with a focus on career development.
- 4
Networking
Establishing network within the participants own research field and scientific fields. Developing international profile and network.?
- 5
Exclusive Events
E.g. inspirational meet ups with international top researcher, university management and representatives from scientific foundations.

The open call for applications for AAU Excellence will be launched on May 1, 2025!
Key Dates to Remember:
- Announcement of Call: May 1, 2025
- Round 1 Deadline: June 13, 2025
Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must have successfully defended their Ph.D. after January 1, 2021, ensuring a Ph.D. age of no more than 5 years (excluding maternity and sick leave, etc.) upon entering the program on January 1, 2026.
