Each year, eight talented early career researchers will have the opportunity to participate in a research talent programme where the instructors and mentors are AAU's international top professors across AAU's four faculties.?

The two-year programme focuses on development of the participants research competencies and profile, research management competencies and research ideas, maturing the participants research CVs through publication in internationally recognized journals, establishing scientific networks and securement of prestigious career grants.

AAU must contribute to solving the major societal challenges, and this poses new, special demands for research competences. Therefore, as a university, we must be able to attract, develop and retain the best talented researchers.

Maturing your research ideas and skills.?

Competency Development
E.g. introduction to the prestigious grants, scientific grant writing, researach management and media training.?

Mentoring
Assignment of one senior mentor with a focus on career development.

Networking
Establishing network within the participants own research field and scientific fields. Developing international profile and network.?

Exclusive Events
E.g. inspirational meet ups with international top researcher, university management and representatives from scientific foundations.

Call for AAU Excellence �C A Two-year research Talent Programme for Early Career Researchers

Aalborg University invites all interested young researchers to apply for admission to the research talent program "AAU Excellence" 2025.

AAU Excellence aims to raise the academic qualifications of the most talented researchers early in their careers. The aim is for the participants to develop their research competencies and profile, groundbreaking and creative research ideas and increase their chances of securing prestigious career grants.

The target group is talented younger researchers with up to five years of PhD seniority. The applicant must be employed at AAU. External applicants can apply for admission to the talent program if they have an AAU employment contract valid from the time of admission.
