A Two-year Research Talent Programme for Early Career Researchers

Each year, eight talented early career researchers will have the opportunity to participate in a research talent programme where the instructors and mentors are AAU's international top professors across AAU's four faculties.?
The two-year programme focuses on development of the participants research competencies and profile, research management competencies and research ideas, maturing the participants research CVs through publication in internationally recognized journals, establishing scientific networks and securement of prestigious career grants.
AAU must contribute to solving the major societal challenges, and this poses new, special demands for research competences. Therefore, as a university, we must be able to attract, develop and retain the best talented researchers.
Programme content
The program’s content is defined within five areas:??

Research
Maturing your research ideas and skills.?

Competency Development
E.g. introduction to the prestigious grants, scientific grant writing, researach management and media training.?

Mentoring
Assignment of one senior mentor with a focus on career development.
- 4
Networking
Establishing network within the participants own research field and scientific fields. Developing international profile and network.?
- 5
Exclusive Events
E.g. inspirational meet ups with international top researcher, university management and representatives from scientific foundations.
Current call for AAU Excellence
CURRENT STATUS AS OF 16TH OF SEPTEMBER 2024
Call for Phase 1 applications for AAU Excellence 2025 is now closed.
The submitted applications have been evaluated by an internal scientific committee, and 16 applicants have been selected for Phase 2 - four from each faculty. The deadline for Phase 2 applications is the 8th of October 2024.
The next call for AAU Excellence is expected to be announced in mid-2025 via this page.
