Student testimonial
I chose to study Cyber Security because I want to make the world a more secure and safe place to live in. The programme gives me the knowledge, skills and competencies to be able to do just this. What I appreciate most is that the courses are so practical and you get to do projects that are applied in the real world. Furthermore, it motivates me a lot to always keep up to date within the cyber security field and we talk about some of it in the projects. Currently I am working on a project involving Tor which is a browser that is freely available for all people who are interested in maintaining anonymity while surfing the internet. Users (political activists, whistleblowers, etc.) employ the Tor browser for different purposes, among others to avoid surveillance. However, Tor also enables people to access the dark web, where some services are invisible via normal browsers such as Google Chrome. In our project, we focus on hidden services offered via Tor that are not necessarily safe to use. It means that you can hack these services.
