What you learn
You learn how to make electronics and programming that can control everything from robotic arms to machines. You understand how to design and control robots, and you work on projects where you develop practical solutions that are based on some of the current challenges in the industry.
What you can do
As a graduate of this programme, you can work as an electronics engineer. You learn how to design electronic components and systems. You work with the control of industrial systems, robots, wind turbines and much more. After the Bachelor's degree, you can pursue a Master's degree and specialize in Advanced Power Electronics or AI and Autonomous Systems.
About the programme

Programme Structure
English language programme in an international environment
The programme in Applied Industrial Electronics is an English-language programme that takes place in an international environment and is offered internationally. This means that, in addition to your academic competencies, you will also develop your language skills. The international environment can also provide you with intercultural competences that will serve you well in your future career.
This is a full-time study programme, and it entails problem-based project work. You will be working closely with other students most of the time, and you will be required to be present at the university on a daily basis and for the vast majority of the day.
A Bachelor's degree in Applied Industrial Electronics, will offer you several different options to study for a postgraduate degree:
Studying at AAU
On each semester, courses constitute half the study time, while the other half is spent on project work in self-selected groups – often working closely with research environments and/or companies. In conjunction with your group, you will apply theories and methods to solve a problem from the real world. On all semesters, you will have an opportunity to do projects with experimental setups in laboratories.
During the programme, activities will be arranged such as field trips to various industrial companies and guest lectures, at which people from industry will talk about developments in electronics and power electronics and about the practical systems and projects they are working on.
The first four semesters will give you, a broad introduction to the disciplines, including basic courses on electronic systems, microprocessors, programming, mechanics and control systems.
In the fifth and sixth semesters, you will follow your chosen specialisation.?

Commencement of studies exam
There is a commencement of studies exam during this study programme. During the first weeks of the 1st semester, you must take a written commencement of studies exam. The purpose of the commencement of studies exam is to determine whether you have actually commenced your studies. You must pass this exam in order to continue on the study programme. If you do not pass the exam, you will have to take another written re-exam. If you do not pass the commencement of studies exam or the re-exam, you will have to leave the programme by October 1st. The commencement of studies exam is based on the introduction as well as your expectations and motivation for the programme.
You will receive the assessment “Approved” or “Not approved” based on your exam answers.
